GOLDEN Certified Working Artists are independent, professional artists who have undergone an extensive, GOLDEN-directed six month, three phase acrylic product education. Training consists of an in-depth study of technical aspects of acrylic, recommended archival painting practices, and vast exposure to teaching tools for artists ranging from beginner watercolorists, mixed media artists to accomplished professionals. GOLDEN Certified Working Artists are contracted with GOLDEN to conduct lectures on GOLDEN Acrylic products.

This lecture packs in a ton of valuable information about acrylics, guiding listeners through the basics while opening up new possibilities. Gain information about mineral and modern pigments and how this relates to clean color mixing, glazing and the creation of fabulous new colors. Learn the unique properties of Fluids, Heavy Body, OPEN and High Flow Acrylics. Discover Interference and Iridescent paints for unusual effects. Get a comprehensive overview on the many Gels & Mediums and how they can change texture, saturation and intensity of color, used for sculptural effects and more. The lecture includes a review of Grounds that create truly, contemporary surfaces for painting, drawing, pastel, digital printing and mixed media.Each lecture includes an array of examples of these materials put to use. Discover the wide range of GOLDEN paints that are fluid in motion: High Flow, Fluid Colors, and QoR Watercolor. Learn how to make the best archival choices from a collection of products. Beginning with traditional watercolor techniques using QoR Watercolor, we move into more contemporary ideas including using GOLDEN products in journaling. This will include an assortment of applications such as: pouring, staining, granulation, blooms, splash, and “white-out” tricks for saving that uncooperative watercolor painting. We will then work with QoR Watercolors in combination with GOLDEN Acrylics to explore the resoluability of watercolor and the permanence of acrylics. Finally, attendees will learn how to take advantage of GOLDEN and QoR Grounds to create myriad surfaces for their work: from paper-like surfaces with the QoR Grounds, to utilizing unique substrates such as wood panels, fabrics, and plastics with GOLDEN Grounds. Finally, we will cover the options of Archival Varnishing of watercolor surfaces, for preservation without using glass. Attendees will receive a selection of the products discussed to take home and explore the breadth and depth of GOLDEN’s professional product line.

Join us for an in-depth lecture and demonstration of Printmaking techniques using GOLDEN Acrylics. Using repeated images as a theme, we will show you many stress free printmaking techniques, no fancy press required. We provide an overview of the many surfaces available for printing, as well as the array of GOLDEN Acrylic Paints that are suitable for making multiple prints. OPEN, the new acrylic that stays wet for extended periods of time is the perfect match. We also use QoR Watercolors for a unique monoprinting technique. This lecture doesn’t stop at the print. We also cover additive and subtractive processes, using High Flow and Fluorescent colors for printing and enhancing finished prints, and using GOLDEN Grounds and Gels for watercolor washes, relief prints, and collagraphs. Attendees leave with new creative possibilities and ideas for small prints, greeting cards, journaling, fabric applications, as well as techniques for larger professional applications. Attendees will receive a selection of the products discussed to take home and explore the breadth and depth of GOLDEN’s professional product line.
Hands-on workshops introduce participants to several acrylic product lines with in-depth exploration of effects achievable with each. These workshops are designed to give artists tools and techniques needed to fully embrace the vast possibilities of acrylic. Workshops target a range of techniques and levels of experience.
