She has participated in several residencies and her work can be found in many private collections in Canada, USA, Europe, and Asia. As an artist, Shari considers herself a mixed-media figurative acrylic painter. She is currently interested in the correlation between the built surface and traditional figurative painting. A strange, almost haunting, feeling is found in her subjects who draw in and captivate viewers. Her work is influenced by artists such as Alice Neel, Gerhard Richter and Sophie Jodoin as well as photographers such as Vivian Maier and Diane Arbus.
