Area of Operation: Sweden, Norrkoping

I was born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England in 1957. I have drawn and painted all my life. I graduated from St. Martin’s School of Art, London with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fashion and Textiles in 1979 and moved to Sweden soon after. I have worked freelance as an illustrator and textile designer for many different magazines and firms such as Damernas Värld, H&M, Året Runt, Strömma, Fix, and Stadium. Around 1990 I discovered acrylic paints and have painted in that medium ever since. I work mostly in acrylic, watercolour, mixed media and collage, and have recently begun collograph printing. My work seems to be becoming freer the older I get. I have painted many portraits in different mediums over the years and enjoy painting and drawing the human figure, but after experimenting with acrylic mediums, inks, water-soluble pencils and crayons I find that the detailed, almost photographic portraits I used to paint, bore me and I feel a longing back to the freer fashion drawing techniques I used at art college. In 2002 I was invited to exhibit my paintings in Riksdagen, Stockholm (the Swedish Parliament building) and have since then travelled over southern Sweden showing and talking about the paintings. I have had several exhibitions in Sweden, and continue to exhibit several times a year.
