I have found great passion in creating the colors and textures which eventually bloom into a bold, vibrant flower. Being inspired by vivid colors and dimensional texture, flowers provide a beautiful palette for me to explore. For me, flowers have always induced feelings of joy, peace and warmth. These feelings are what I try to capture and convey through my paintings. In painting these flowers, I feel as though I have bloomed internally as a person, a mother, a friend and an artist. I am grateful every day for the opportunity to share my passion for art and flowers. I’ve spent most of my life dabbling in various forms of art. In 2008, after hitting a creative wall and feeling an intense pull to nurture my creativity, I took an acrylic painting class and finally felt like I found my true calling. I enjoy the versatility of acrylic paints and the opportunity it provides to integrate mixed media. I continue to explore new ways to incorporate a variety of textural elements to each of my paintings. Internal Bloom was born after my first solo exhibit in 2010 when the director of Plymouth Community Arts Council took a chance on a new artist. Since then, I have shared my work through multiple juried exhibits, art fairs, galleries, hospitals and social media outlets. In 2012, I began doing demonstrations and teaching "Open Studio" style classes. These experiences have evolved into hands-on workshops where I can share my favorite products and techniques with fellow artists.
