Crazy About Glass Beads!
Technique # 2010-2.3

 

Paint Products:
Proceed Low Absorbency Base Coat: Pastel Base

Color Tinting Ratio:
To 1 gallon, add 1 tablespoon of each: Yellow Oxide and Titanium White Dispersions

Proceed Rough Glass Bead Texture
Color Tinting Ratio: Untinted
Proceed Smooth Transparent Glazing Texture
Color Tinting Ratio:Untinted
Proceed Metallic Pearl and Gold Mediums
Color Tinting Ratio: 11 oz. Metallic Gold Medium and 16 oz. Metallic Pearl Medium

Brushes and Tools:
Metallic Roller Cover and Roller Frame
Texture Trowel
Mixing tools

Painting Instructions:

  1. Step 1. Over dried base coat, roll two coats of tinted Metallic Medium allowing to dry in between coats and before moving on to Step 2.


  2. Step 2. Mix equal parts Rough Glass Bead Texture with Smooth Transparent Glazing Texture. Using a texture trowel, apply the mixture to the surface using short strokes, liberally applying the material in patches. Without reloading the trowel, spread the beads over the surface, filling in gaps. NOTE: If more open time is required, add quantites of Full Bodied Glaze.
    Continue applying the Rough Glass Bead Texture until the surface is covered to satisfaction and allow to dry.
