Paint Products:

• Crackle Paste
• Full Bodied Glaze*
• Fluid Turquois (Phthalo)
• Heavy Body Iridescent Copper (Fine)
• Heavy Body Iridescent Pearl (Fine)

• Texture blades or spackle knives
• House paintbrush
• Cheesecloth or cotton rag
• Painter’s tape
• Small basic brush

Painting Instructions:

Step 1.  With a texture blade or spackle knife, apply Crackle Paste onto the surface allowing the base color to show in places.  Allow the surface to dry.

Step 2.  Mix the Full Bodied Glaze with Turquois (Phthalo) at a 10:1 ratio.  Brush over the Crackle Paste surface and remove excess glaze with cheesecloth or cotton rag.  Allow surface to dry.

Step 3.  Tape off stripes and paint in using the Iridescent colors.  Remove tape and allow to dry.

Clean Up:  Wash hands and tools in soap and water.  Keep tools wet while working to prevent permanent adhesion of the acrylic materials.

Surface Preparation:

General: A clean, wax free, non-greasy surface is recommended.  High gloss surfaces may need scuffing to improve adhesion.  GOLDEN Glaze is formulated to work best over a satin sheen base coat.  Gels and texture products may be put over any sheen base coat.

Masonry/Stucco: New masonry needs to be fully cured and primed with a suitable masonry primer.

Wood: Raw wood may be painted or stained directly, but be aware that water based materials can cause grain raising.  See “General” instructions above for guidance on previously painted surfaces.

Metal: Painting direct to metal requires a suitable primer for the specific metal type.  See “General” instructions above for guidance on previously painted surfaces.

Glass: Painting direct to glass is possible; primers and GOLDEN GAC 200 aid in adhesion.

Fabric, Canvas, and Paper: Paint direct or use GOLDEN Mediums as a size, to increase launderability or seal the surface.
