Paint Products:

  • Fluid Acrylic Iridescent Silver
  • Fluid Acrylic Interference Oxide Green (Y.S.)
  • Soft Gel (Semi-Gloss)
  • White Gesso

Brushes and Tools:

  • Large Palette Knife
  • Water
  • Sponge
  • Photocopied Images
  • Foam Roller

Painting Instructions:

Step 1.  Using a foam roller apply White Gesso to the surface and allow to dry.

Step 2.  Mix Fluid Iridescent Silver with Soft Gel (Semi-Gloss) at a 1:2 ratio.  Apply this mixture to top half of surface, (measure beforehand) using a palette knife.  Make the surface as smooth as possible. Take your photocopied images (our images are three birds) and place them into wet mixture, face down. Lightly press image into wet mixture.  Make sure the whole image is in the wet mixture to allow the complete image to transfer.  Also make sure you don’t push all the mixture out from under the paper or the image will not transfer well.  Allow to dry.

Step 3.  Repeat Step 2 using a mixture of Fluid Interference Oxide Green (Y.S.) and Soft Gel (Semi-Gloss) at a 1:2 ratio.  Allow to dry.

Step 4.  Using a wet sponge apply water over each image and gently scrub the surface, washing the paper off the surface.  Do not scrub hard or the image will also be removed from the dry mixture of gel and color.  Repeat this over all images and allow to dry.

Important:
Golden Artist Colors provides these recipes as points of departure for exploring Golden products in faux finishing applications.

GOLDEN strongly recommends samples be created before attempting to apply these techniques to walls, some techniques will be difficult to remove or to cover at a later date.

Please contact the technical support team before application if there are concerns or questions at 1-800-959-6543.
