Painting Instructions: Left to Right, Top to Bottom

Cover 1.  Using a color wash brush, drag Fluid Interference color down skipping in areas to allow base coated color to appear through.  Allow to dry.

Cover 2.  Using a palette knife, apply Gold Mica Flake (Small) through stencil.  Allow to dry.  Brush Fluid Iridescent Gold (Fine) scattered across book cover.  Allow to dry.  Brush Gold Mica Flake (Small) over dry gold paint and over rest of book cover, scattering it.
Allow to dry.

Cover 3.  Mix Fluid colors and Fluid Micaceous Iron Oxide with Acrylic Glazing Liquid in separate mixtures.  Using a color wash brush, apply these colors in strips and blend together.  Allow to dry.

Cover 4.  Apply Absorbent Ground on entire book cover using a sponge brush.  Allow to dry.  Using Fluid colors and water, make circles for a watercolor effect.  Allow to dry.

Cover 5.  Paint Fluid color onto stamp and stamp onto book cover.  Allow to dry.  Crinkle tissue paper and then open tissue paper up and apply over entire surface using Soft Gel (Semi-Gloss) as an adhesive.  Allow to dry.  Using a color wash brush, apply Raw Umber Glaze over tissue paper.  Use cheesecloth to remove excess glaze.  Allow glaze to collect around crinkled paper.   Allow to dry.

Cover 6.  Using a sea sponge, sponge various Fluid colors on book cover and allow to dry.

Cover 7.  Using a foam roller, roll Fluid Yellow Ochre onto surface.  Use rocker grainer to drag and rock back and forth slowly down surface.  Allow to dry.  Repeat that step using Gold Opal Glaze.  Allow to dry.

Cover 8.  Apply Heavy Body colors to build up layers using a 2” wide paint brush.  Apply one color at a time allowing each color to show through the previous color (skipping pattern).  Allow to dry.

Cover 9.  Apply Fluid color to book cover.  Use a steel comb to drag vertically and horizontally.  Allow to dry.  Using a foam stamp, stamp Fluid Interference colors on top of this.  Allow to dry.

Cover 10.  Sponge on Fluid color.  Allow to dry.  Using a palette knife, apply Light Molding Paste through stencil.  Allow to dry.  Apply Slate Glaze over entire cover and remove excess glaze using cheesecloth, allowing some to collect around stenciled area.  Allow to dry.  Brush Fluid Iridescent Silver over the book cover, allowing the base to show through and covering most of the stenciled area.
