Painting Instructions:

Note: Viewing a physical sample or photograph of the actual marble to be painted is imperative to understanding the color tonality and design necessary to read the painted image as marble. These instructions are very basic. We recommend practicing the technique and looking at real marble for inspiration.

Step 1. Roll base coat over surface and allow to dry.

Step 2. Mix Airbrush Carbon Black and Matte Medium, ratio 1:10. Brush this mixture over 100% of the surface and use a dampened sponge to remove some of it. Allow the surface to dry.

Step 3. Mix Airbrush Titanium White with Matte Medium, ratio 1:10. Sponge on in areas and soften with cheesecloth. Use the Double Header brush to draw some of the lighter fragments.

Step 4. Add highlights using the Titanium White and deep darks using the Carbon Black mixtures with the MB 1 Sz 4 brush. Allow the surface to dry when the design is satisfactory.

Clean Up: Wash hands and tools in soap and water. Keep tools wet while working to prevent permanent adhesion of the acrylic materials.

Important:
Golden Artist Colors provides these recipes as points of departure for exploring Golden products in faux finishing applications.

GOLDEN strongly recommends samples be created before attempting to apply these techniques to walls, some techniques will be difficult to remove or to cover at a later date. Please contact the technical support team before application if there are concerns or questions at 1-800-959-6543.
