Painting Instructions:

Important: Golden Artist Colors provides these recipes as points of departure for exploring Golden products in faux finishing applications.

GOLDEN strongly recommends samples be created before attempting to apply these techniques to walls, some techniques will be difficult to remove or to cover at a later date.

Please contact the technical support team before application if there are concerns or questions at 1-800-959-6543.

Step 1.
Tape out any architectural details needed for the design. Apply Light Molding Paste with spatula knives that are appropriately sized for the design and allow the surface to dry. High and low points can be achieved by reapplying more Light Molding Paste to some areas or by simply running the knife over the surface again and pulling away some of the material.

Step 2. Use a damp rag to apply the Glazes in the following order: Fresco Cream, all over the surface; Burnt Sienna, over 90% of the surface; Sea Foam Green, over 20% of the surface; and Pink Coral, over 10 % of the surface. Allow the surface to dry.

Step 3. Using a watercolor or detail brush, dampen low areas and highlighted areas with water and then apply small amounts of the Fluid Raw Umber. The Light Molding Paste surface is sponge-like and will draw the Raw Umber color into it. This creates an "Old World" stained effect. If areas become too dark or unnatural looking, apply more water to "wash out" the color. When the effect is satisfactory, allow the surface to dry.
