Important: Golden Artist Colors provides these recipes as points of departure for exploring Golden products in faux finishing applications.

GOLDEN strongly recommends samples be created before attempting to apply these techniques to walls, some techniques will be difficult to remove or to cover at a later date.

Please contact the technical support team before application if there are concerns or questions at 1-800-959-6543.

Step 1.
Apply base coat and allow surface to dry.

Step 2. Create a glaze using the Fluid Interference Oxide Red and Acrylic Glazing Liquid mixed at a 2:1 ratio.

Step 3. Create a glaze using the Fluid Quinacridone Crimson and Acrylic Glazing Liquid mixed at a 2:1 ratio.

Step 4. Using a brush, apply the first glaze in an "x" pattern over the surface. Leave some areas unpainted. Take the same brush and apply the second glaze in an "x" pattern in the unpainted areas. Gently blend the edges where the two glazes meet with the same brush and allow the surface to dry.

Note: Be careful not to blend or soften the colors too much. It is important to be able to view the differences between the two colors and see the "x" pattern created, this allows the viewer to experience the full effect of the "interference" phenomenon.
