Important: Golden Artist Colors provides these recipes as points of departure for exploring Golden products in faux finishing applications.

GOLDEN strongly recommends samples be created before attempting to apply these techniques to walls, some techniques will be difficult to remove or to cover at a later date.

Step 1. Tape off sizes and shapes of stones.

Step 2. Mix Hard Molding Paste and Garnet Gel to a 1:1 ratio. Apply this mixture by dragging putty knife diagonally and horizontally back and forth adding more layers to create plateaus and valleys. Pull off tape and allow the surface to dry.

Step 3. Using a colorwash brush, apply a thin layer of Burnt Umber and Raw Umber Glazes over the entire surface. Soften the colors with a rag by blotting and rubbing glaze into the texture. Rub off glaze with damp rag in random areas-creating highlights and allow surface to dry.

Step 4. Add Slate Glaze to highlight the edges and crevices to create depth. Soften with a rag where the Slate Glaze appears too bold and allow to dry.
