Technical Support

GOLDEN's Technical Support team provides meaningful information to users of art materials and makers of art materials alike. The department houses professional artists who also have extensive technical backgrounds. This allows them to bridge the gap between the scientific and artistic aspects of the materials produced at GOLDEN. Support Technicians ensure that customers understand the full capabilities of products that already exist on the market. The technicians can also help determine when a custom solution needs to be created to address a unique situation.

Customer Response is one of the most important services provided by Technical Support. Artists who are facing challenges in their work phone, email, and send letters or faxes communicating the problem to our staff. Once the Support Technicians understand each artist's requirements, they try to figure out what product or what application is best suited to their needs. This advice includes, but is not limited to, GOLDEN products. Support Technicians are knowledgeable about the full range of products available, and they are committed to giving the best possible service to their fellow artists.

GOLDEN's Technical Support department also conducts extensive research on acrylic paints and other modern art materials. Significant contributions to the field have been made on methods of transporting, storing and cleaning artwork, conservation and safety issues, and solid waste disposal. To permanently address the archival and conservation issues surrounding acrylic artist paints, GOLDEN Artist Colors agreed to support the "Sam Golden Research Fellowship at the National Gallery of Art." The Sam Golden Research Fellowship will play a pivotal role in a consortium of international institutions that team their efforts to develop better, longer-lasting materials with which to work.

Technical Support creates Product Information and Application Sheets that can be made available by request or reviewed on the GOLDEN website. These articles are extensive, and attempt to contain all of the information available on a product while helping users to avoid potential problems. The Product Information Sheets identify the technical attributes and characteristics of a product while giving tips on how the product may be used artfully to achieve a range of effects.
