Murals on Canvas:

I am creating a mural on canvas mounted to board and then mounted to a wall. How do you suggest I go about doing it?
Consider the use of either MDO (Medium Density Overlay) or MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) for the substrate to work on. MDO is also referred to as "Sign Painter's Board" as it resists warping even outdoors. You can either permanently attach the canvas to the panels with GOLDEN Soft Gel Gloss, or simply stretch the canvas over the board and attach from the back or sides. We would suggest using the Soft Gel to adhere. Use a rolling pin to even out the gel and eliminate air pockets between the canvas and panel. Consider fastening wooden strips (Example 1" x 4") to the actual wall, and then using screws to fasten the artwork to them. This will allow for fairly easy removal for cleaning purposes, and subsequent remounting. Secondly apply 2 coats of the GOLDEN GAC 100 to the canvas, let dry and apply at least 2 coats of GOLDEN Gesso.
