Wax Over Acrylics:

Is the use of wax a stable procedure over acrylic?
Depends on the wax and the reasons you applying it. Encaustic: use Extra Coarse Pumice Gel mixed with Gesso to create a secure bond. Sealing topcoat, use a thin layer of something like Renaissance wax. Usually this is sparingly wiped onto the surface. The greatest benefit is to reduce tackiness, however, it may be hard to remove from a surface, so an isolation coat should be applied first.
