Ceramic and Glass:

Is GOLDEN paint permanent on glass? Is it dishwasher safe?
We do have a product called GAC 200 that improves adhesion to non-porous surfaces such as glass, but it does not produce a permanent bond. In addition, no combination of GOLDEN products will be dishwasher safe.

There are several companies claiming to have such products, including Pebeo, Deka, Delta, and Liquitex.

We are interested in color pigments and paints which are used in ceramic and glass industries. They must bear high temperatures such as at least 900'C. Does GOLDEN have such a product?
GOLDEN sells pigments by the pound as a convenience to our customers, but we do not make any ceramic slips or glazes. We are mainly a manufacturer of acrylic based paints, which could be used on terra cotta and other bisqueware that has a high degree of porosity, but they are not intended to be fired. We suggest you contact Kremer Pigmente at (212) 219-2395. They may be able to suggest where to obtain ceramic and glass products.

I am starting a new ceramic business and would like your advice. I am researching different glazes to create a highly durable and very glossy, smooth finish. Then I saw the colors and effects of your Acrylics.
I bought some Golden Fluid Acrylic paints, some Interference and some Satin Finish Glaze, all of which look stunning on the pottery I have made. However I noticed that it was not durable at all - the paint may come off as the item was handled and I need to find a way of making the paint very hard wearing. Do you suggest a primer? What varnish or lacquer? - we want a high gloss finish along with durability.
The GAC 200 is an acrylic medium which will increase the adhesion and hardness of the GOLDEN paints. While our Hard MSA Varnish is a good product for decorative objects, I believe you'll have much longer lasting results with an Automotive 2 part coating. These products are very tough and resistant to weather. They should not have any adverse effects on the GOLDEN products.

I have used our paints straight from the tube onto terra cotta clay pots and have several of these painted in my office full of soil and plants. Because the acrylics are very breathable, they allow moisture to pass through them instead of chipping off like a hard paint would (enamels for instance). I've had them here for about 5 years with no ill effects to the paints.
