FAQ: GOLDEN Varnishes
GOLDEN VARNISHES
Printer Friendly VersionPrinter Friendly Version
Varnishing Floorcloths:

I would like to get information on varnishing floorcloths.
Varnishing floorcloths is a tricky one. You need flexibility AND hardness. Some artists use GOLDEN Polymer Varnish for this purpose, as it removes with ammonia. Others will use waterborne Polyurethane like Varithane. Neither is ideal, so it depends on what is more important: removability, flexibility or hardness. Some people use a wax finish when they get done, stripping it off for occasional cleaning. Please refer to the information sheet on our Web site.
