FAQ: General Information
GENERAL INFORMATION
Environmental Health & Safety:

Our business is evolving day by day as we decide exactly what type of business we want to be. We strive to be an ethical business with an accent on using ecologically sound products. We have noticed on your Environmental Health and Safety notice that these products have not been exhaustively tested for chronic toxicity. We absolutely love the colors you create and it would be a great shame not to be able to use them, but we need to know we are using paints that conform to our standards as individuals as well as a business.
Safety in the workplace at GOLDEN is held in the same regard as for our customers which use them. GOLDEN is a unique company that creates a huge variety of products. Many are our standard products, such as the Heavy Body Paints, which are thoroughly evaluated by an independent Toxicologist. However, we make lots of custom products, which are so new that they either have not been submitted to the labs for testing, or we may be awaiting test results. Generally, new formulas are based on raw materials we use for many standard products, but until the Toxicologist puts his seal of approval on it, we will not lessen the warning.

We also have custom products which are considered "Professional Use Only." This means that they are only meant to be used by adults in controlled environments. Included in this group are things like raw materials and paint additives such as defoamers, thickeners, etc. Although they are used all the time in our products, they need added respect because of their concentration within the bottle.

Rest assured that we carefully look at each raw material before it's even brought into our Research & Development facilities.

We are in a new age. The products used by artists are under tighter scrutiny than ever before. GOLDEN has always tried to be up-front about any health concerns regarding our products. You can always get an MSDS for any of our products, just like you should request them for all the products you use to understand not just what ingredients are in the products, but how those ingredients can affect you.
