Mark Golden Presents at Morgan Library & Museum in NYC
"The Study of Acrylic Paint"

––– Columbus, NY, December 19, 2007

On October 18, 2007 Golden Artist Colors, Inc. CEO Mark Golden participated in a workshop, “Modern Drawing and Painting Materials,” sponsored by the American Institute for Conservation of Historic & Artistic Works (AIC) in Washington, D.C.  Golden’s lecture, titled “The Study of Acrylic Paint,” was one presentation in a 3-day workshop that combined lectures and hands-on sessions introducing participants to modern drawing and painting media found on paper, canvas and board. Lectures focused on the manufacture, history and properties of modern media of acrylic paint, matte paints, oil sticks and wax based drawing materials.  There was also an overview of the chemical and physical properties and aging characteristics of acrylic paint and other selected media and their relationship to preservation issues, including exhibition, storage and more. The series was led by industry authorities from the National Gallery of Art, Buffalo State College and the Museum of Modern Art.
