New for Back-to-School… GOLDEN Introduces Gel in a Tube

––– Columbus, NY, June 1, 2005

For all the artists who are committed to working with a tube, Golden Artist Colors, Inc. introduces gel medium in a tube! For artists, there’s something about a tube … a palpable, tactile something, a moment of communion with past masters, a whisper of inspiration from emerging innovators. Why should that experience be limited to color?

In response to requests from a number of artists who use our products in a wide range of applications, GOLDEN has created gel in a tube, marrying the gel form with the function of the tube.

Now long time users of color in a tube can experience the added dimension that gel can bring to their work, while retaining the familiarity and convenience of the tube.

Similarly, savvy gel users can now experience the control and precision available with a tube application, while still having the latitude to scoop with a palette knife when only a wide-mouthed jar will do.

As a true companion product to GOLDEN Heavy Body Acrylic Colors, gel in a tube provides an entrée into the use of gel mediums for the professional, as well as the student.

With the same creamy consistency as GOLDEN Heavy Body Acrylic Colors, this Regular Gel in a tube form is ideal for:

  • Increasing volume without altering thickness
  • Extending color for underpainting
  • Regulating translucency without altering thickness
  • Adjusting surface sheen
  • Increasing film integrity

All GOLDEN Gels are formulated with 100% acrylic dispersion polymer, yielding a film with excellent flexibility and chemical, water, and UV resistance. Any quantity of gel can be mixed with any quantity of GOLDEN color. The superior quality of Golden Acrylics allows the paint to be extended while still maintaining good coverage. For a glaze, try mixing 1 part color to 10 parts gel. To extend paint for economy or underpainting, start with 1 part color to 1 part gel.

Available in three sheens, Gloss, Semi-Gloss, & Matte, Regular Gel in 5 oz. tubes will be shipped individually boxed, beginning July 1, 2005. Visit www.goldenpaints.com for more information on GOLDEN Gel Mediums.
